In 1998, Pacific artist Fiji won Hawaii’s prestigious Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Male Vocalist of the Year and was also voted Favorite Entertainer of the Year.
∙ Fiji sang and cowrote “Let Me Be the One,” the theme song to Baywatch: Hawaii, which also featured some of his Polynesian-flavored tunes.
∙ He produced and sang on R&B/reggae star J Boog’s 2007 hit debut, Hear Me Roar, while Boog appeared on Fiji’s 2013 single “Lonely Days.”
∙ In 2012, he performed the National Anthem at Heinz Field before a Pittsburgh Steelers game, and he later headlined a charity Polynesian luau held by Steelers star Troy Polamalu.
